Nintendo recently held their Indie World announcement earlier this week, which included Sports Story, Coffee Talk Episode 2 and A Space for the Unbound. In case you missed it and want to watch it all, you can watch the whole showcase below;
Here's everything that was announced earlier this week;
Venba
Venba is a narrative rich, unique cooking game where you'll be playing as an Indian mum who immigrates to Canada with her family during the 1980's. Throughout the game, you'll be cooking a variety of dishes, while also restoring long long recipes. You'll also hold branching conversations, and explore about family, love, loss and more. Venba releases on the switch in 2023.
Goodbye World
In another unique title, Goodbye World is about Programmer Kanii and graphics artist Kumade who meet in College. After graduating, they begin creating indie games together - but life as we know can be harsh. Their games don't sell as they expected, and most of their time is spent working other part time jobs to make ends meet. Kanii desperately tries to find a way to make a product that sells, Kumade makes a decision. This title drops later this month.
Have a Nice Death Have a Nice Death is a hand-drawn, 2D Action Roguelike where players assume the role of Death, Founder and CEO of Death Incorporated (You know, the giant underworld organization responsible for processing souls in the afterlife). This rougelike will require multiple runs to complete. Luckily, players will have an armory full of weapons, spells and special skills to get the job done. This title releases March 22, 2023.
Aka
Aka is a top-down single-player experience where you help a retired warrior find some inner peace. In this small open world, players can farm, craft and solve various quests to relax. However, the demons from your past might come back to remind you what you want to forget! Aka releases next month on December 15, 2022.
Pepper Grinder
In this action platformer title from Devolver Digital, You play as Pepper - who's been shipwrecked and robbed of her treasure. Use the trusty drill Ginder to reclaim what the mischievous Narlings stole! Of course, there's a few obstacles to overcome including a mysterious figure that begins to emerge from the shadows! Releases in 2023.
Coffee Talk Episode 2
The sequel to the 2020's heart-to-heart talking coffee simulator! It's time to dust off the coffee machine again, and get to know the locals by brewing them a warm drink, and listen to their stories. Coming soon.
Oni: Road to be the Mightiest Oni
Demon warrior Kuuta and his partner Kazemaru challenge these souls to a trial - All in an effort to defeat Momotaro who is a human and enemy of demon. Releases March 9, 2023.
Desta: The Memories Between
From the creators behind Monument Valley, Desta: The Memories Between is a story of shattered relationships, words left unsaid and the chance to explore your dreams with turn-based tactics. This title releases sometime early 2023.
A Space for the Unbound
A Space for the Unbound is beautiful pixel art game set in late ’90s rural Indonesia. It tells a story about overcoming anxiety, depression, and the relationship between two high school sweethearts with supernatural powers. They must explore and investigate their town to uncover hidden secrets, face the end of the world, and perhaps learn more about each other. This title releases early next year on January 19, 2023.
Dordogne
Exploring stunning landscapes in hand-painted watercolors as Mimi, you'll embark on a vibrant journey to find out precious recollections of your childhood, and the memories you had with your late grandmother. Releases in 2023.
Botany Manor
Welcome to Botany Manor, a majestic home in 19th century England. You'll play as its inhabitant, Arabella Greene, who's a retired botanist. Explore both the indoors and outdoors filled with research, and figure out the ideal habitat for a collection of forgotten flora. Grow each plant and find out the mysterious qualities they hold! Releases 2023.
Once Upon a Jester
Travel the kingdom as Jester alongside his best friend, Sok, as they improvise theater shows and perform on stages. Sing it out, crack jokes and impress audiences to become the stars of the famous Royal Theatrical Spectacle! Once Upon a Jester is avaliable now.
Rogue Legacy 2
Today you could be a colorblind Knight, the next you could be a lute playing Bard with Vertigo. Each heir is different, but everyone can be a hero! Rouge Legacy 2 is out now.
Blanc
Blanc is an artistic, cooperative adventure that follows the journey of a wolf cub and a fawn stranded in a tough snowy wilderness. Together, they must work together in an unlikely partnership if they want to find both their families. Blanc releases February 14, 2023.
Wrestle Quest
What do you get when you mix Pro wrestling with an RPG fantasy? Wrestle Quest! Macho Man” Randy Savage and tons of other icons offer guidance as you trek your way to glory beyond the ring in the ultimate pixel adventure. Releases in May 2023.
Wobbledogs Console Edition
Wobbledogs is a casual, chill sandbox experience for players of all ages who want to care for their very own virtual pets in a unique and stress-free environment. This title releases next week on November 17.
Storyteller
Storyteller is an award-winning puzzle game that lets you build the story. Storyteller’s charming animations and comic-panel design allows players to experience a unique puzzle mechanic. Use your wits to retell iconic tales, or mix it up and create a different version - you choose! Releases March 23, 2023.
World of Horror
In this horrific 1-bit roguelite RPG, you'll follow the rural residents of a seaside Japanese town facing inhuman terrors, as reality frays and tears at the edges. Struggle against malevolent legends of Japanese folklore while trying to hold onto your sanity. Releases sometime in 2023.
Curse of the Sea Rats
Curse of the Sea Rats is a platform adventure with beautifully hand-drawn animations. Embark on an epic journey of four prisoners of the British empire. The catch? They've been transformed into rats by the notorious pirate witch, Flora Burn. Releases in 2023.
Inscryption
A deckbuilding roguelike, escape-room style puzzle game that mixes psychological horror into a blood-laced smoothie. Darker still are the secrets inscribed upon the cards - if you dare to play! Releases on December 1st, 2022.
