Every game announced for the Nintendo Switch 2 at Nintendo Direct

Nintendo’s first-ever Nintendo Switch 2 Direct was broadcast late last night in Australia. Not only did we get an in-depth look at the Nintendo Switch 2, but we also got a look at some of the games coming to the system. Some of these games were previously announced and will come out on both the Switch and the Switch 2, others are enhanced versions of Switch games coming to Switch 2, and some games will be exclusive to the Nintendo Switch 2.

Third-Party Launch Titles

These games will be available to all Nintendo Switch 2 owners from June 5th, 2025, the day the console is released.

Third-Party Titles

Nintendo Switch 2 Edition

Gamers who already own a select few titles on the original Nintendo Switch can upgrade their games to the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition. The new edition will utilise the better performance capabilities of the Switch 2, enabling higher frame rates and resolutions. Here are the first batch of Nintendo Switch games you can upgrade to the Switch 2 Edition.

Nintendo Switch Online

Nintendo Switch Online is staying the same as it transitions from one console to the next. All of the current games will remain. But we do have one more addition: the Nintendo GameCube! As part of the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership, gamers can access games from the Nintendo GameCube (this edition is not available on the original Switch, only the Switch 2). Currently, there are three games available on the service at launch.

I am speechless! The Nintendo Switch 2 is kicking off to an astronomical start. The exclusives library is very strong; I could not believe the GameCube announcement and the third-party titles coming are very, very exciting. I am super excited for Mario Kart World, Donkey Kong Bananza, Professor Layton, Silksong and Hades II.
