One of "the" most legendary pieces of gaming history apparently belongs to Scooby-Doo's best friend Shaggy.
The latest movie in the Scooby-Doo lineup SCOOB!, hit streaming platforms on Friday.
And Twitter user @GirlWolfPup noticed something very interesting sitting inconspicuously under Shaggy's desk: the Nintendo Playstation!
One of the most valuable gaming consoles in existence, the Nintendo Playstation was a prototype developed in partnership between the two companies in the late 80s/early 90s. The system would have used both CD-ROM and cartridges and would have been Sony's first foray into the home console space. The deal fell through and the rest is history!
The part of the film that features the Nintendo Playstation is a flashback to when Mystery Inc. were kids. While the time period isn't explicitly laid out, it's conceivable that Shaggy was around the age when the Nintendo Playstation would have been popular had it ever actually been produced.
Perhaps in the world of Scoob the Nintendo Playstation WAS produced!
