The campaign follows a North Korean invasion of the Korean Peninsula, with players taking on the role of South Korean soldier Private Park Hyun Jun. Multiplayer launches with 12 new 6v6 maps, alongside larger battlefields featuring vehicle and infantry combat. DMZ also returns, bringing an extraction based experience where players must collect valuable equipment, survive encounters and escape contested areas.
Players who purchased the digital game early have also been able to access the campaign ahead of the full launch.

Physical copies and retail offers
Which is the cheapest place to buy Modern Warfare 4?
Based on the Australian listings checked for this guide, Target is the cheapest mainstream retailer we've verified at $85. BIG W, JB Hi-Fi and Amazon Australia are also worth comparing at around $89, while Harvey Norman lists the PS5 edition at $98.
If you're buying digitally on PS5 or Xbox, the official PlayStation & Xbox Store price is $109.95, so a cheaper physical copy may be the better value option if you own a console with a disc drive.
PC players should check Steam and other official digital storefronts directly to confirm the final Australian price. Remember that physical copies, digital editions and premium editions aren't always directly comparable.
