Mini Mammoth Games, a small Adelaide based studio, has made a game - about space rovers!
I was lucky enough to meet the awesome people behind Mini Mammoth games, and a bit about what they've been up to. Currently the studio are working together with Flinders University and The Andy Thomas Space Centre on a project called Roving Rovers.
This project is made specifically to encourage and help students. Particularly younger students to become interested in STEAM industries, and specifically the growing space industry here in Australia. The hope is that this interactive media will do just that and further an interest in the space industry. See, video games are important! (where was this video game based education when I was in school!?)
Here's a gameplay video below;
Your tasks throughout this game includes collecting soil samples, moving objects and building structures to further research.
If you're keen or perhaps know someone who might be keen on checking this project out, Mini Mammoth Games will be taking Roving Rovers to the 14th Space Forum at Adelaide Convention Centre on Tuesday October 25th.
To follow along on this project, you can also check out Mini Mammoth Games on their website and socials.
