TerraMow V600 Review

The longer I spend with robot mowers, the harder it becomes to imagine going back to doing things the old-fashioned way. Once you get used to having something quietly maintaining your lawn while you get on with literally anything else, the idea of spending hours every weekend pushing a mower around starts to feel like a pretty outdated use of your time. The TerraMow V600 has only reinforced that feeling for me.
Having previously spent a considerable amount of time with the Eufy E15, I came into the TerraMow experience with a pretty good understanding of what this new generation of wire-free robot mowers is capable of. The similarities between the two are immediately obvious. Both follow a very similar design philosophy, both rely on camera-based technology and AI navigation rather than traditional perimeter wires, and both are designed to map and understand your lawn without requiring you to spend a weekend installing cables around the property. What I really like about the TerraMow V600, though, is that it doesn't feel like TerraMow has tried to reinvent the wheel. Instead, it feels like it has taken an already solid foundation and improved on a lot of the little things. The technology developed by Muxin Intelligent Technology provides the foundation, while TerraMow has taken that technology and built the V600 around it with refinements to the navigation, obstacle avoidance, software and overall user experience. After spending an extended amount of time with it, I think those little improvements actually add up to a pretty significant overall experience.
If you've seen the Eufy E15, the TerraMow V600 will probably look quite familiar. The overall concept is very similar, and that isn't necessarily a bad thing. The E15 was my first real experience with this style of wire-free robot mower, and I was genuinely impressed with how far the technology had come. The TerraMow takes that same basic idea and builds on it, using its vision-based navigation technology to map the lawn, understand its surroundings and navigate without perimeter wire or an RTK antenna. Instead of relying on something physically installed around the boundary of your lawn, the mower uses its cameras and onboard intelligence to work out where it needs to go.

That makes the whole concept considerably easier to live with. You aren't burying wires, installing boundary equipment or constantly worrying about whether something has been damaged. You set the mower up, allow it to map the lawn and then let it get on with the job. I found the initial setup very easy, although I have to be fair and admit that I came into this with an advantage. Having already gone through the Eufy E15 setup process, I understood how this type of mower works and what to expect from the mapping process, so while I found the TerraMow extremely straightforward, someone buying their first robot mower may have a slightly different experience. Either way, I had very little trouble getting the V600 up and running.
Ultimately, all the technology in the world doesn't mean much if the mower doesn't actually cut the grass properly. Thankfully, that isn't something you need to worry about with the V600. The TerraMow mows in a very methodical and tidy fashion, working its way through the lawn rather than seemingly driving around randomly. After extended use, I found the lawn was consistently maintained and, interestingly, I think the finished result is actually slightly better than what I experienced with the Eufy E15. The E15 is still an excellent mower, so we're talking about relatively small differences here, but the TerraMow seems to have a slightly more deliberate approach to how it works through the lawn. It feels efficient, the cutting pattern is neat and the end result is exactly what I want from a robot mower. It keeps the grass short without me having to think about it.
One of the biggest lessons I learned from using the Eufy, however, was that you have to be careful not to overdo it. Just because you have a robot mower that can theoretically go out and cut the grass constantly doesn't mean you should let it. Overmowing can put unnecessary stress on your lawn and contribute to issues such as thatching and poor grass health. This is actually one of the reasons this review has taken me longer than you might expect. Properly testing a robot mower takes time. I didn't want to simply run the V600 constantly for a few weeks and tell you it works. I wanted to see how it performed over an extended period while also giving the grass enough time to respond to the mowing schedule. Once you find the right balance for your lawn, the results are fantastic.
Edge performance is one area where I think the TerraMow has improved over the Eufy E15, but it is also something that still needs further work. In my experience, the V600 gets closer to the edges and seems more confident when approaching boundaries, which means there is generally less grass left behind than I experienced with the E15. I think this comes down largely to the way the mower interprets its surroundings. Its camera-based navigation allows it to get closer to boundaries while still maintaining enough awareness of where it is, rather than simply staying a conservative distance away from everything.
But there are still physical limitations. The blades are underneath the mower, and the body of the machine can't physically squeeze into every little corner or right up against every type of fence, garden bed or raised edge. So even though the TerraMow does a better job, you're still going to need to get the whipper snipper out occasionally. The important word there is occasionally. I have gone from spending hours every weekend mowing the lawn to spending maybe 30 minutes every two or three weeks doing some edging and general tidying. That is a massive difference, and honestly, that's the sort of improvement I care about far more than whether the mower can get another couple of centimetres closer to a fence.

This is probably the biggest area where I think TerraMow still has some work to do. The obstacle avoidance is good, and I think it is slightly more efficient than what I experienced with the Eufy E15, particularly when it comes to navigating around larger and more obvious obstacles. But I deliberately set up a couple of tests to see how the mower would react to different things in its path, and I came away feeling like its threshold for what it considers an obstacle is perhaps a little too high.
The V600 was willing to drive over rocks that I personally would have expected it to recognise and avoid. In one instance, it drove over a rock large enough to lift the wheels of the mower off the ground. It got over it, but watching your robot mower effectively climb over a rock isn't exactly what you want to see. It also made me wonder how it would handle something like pet poo. I haven't personally subjected it to that particular test, and frankly, I don't really want to, but if the mower is willing to drive over some reasonably substantial objects rather than going around them, I would be nervous about completely trusting it around a yard where a dog might have left something behind.
I think this is an area where the technology needs to become a little more conservative. The mower doesn't necessarily need to understand exactly what an object is. Sometimes it would simply be better for it to say, "There is something in my way, I'm going around it." That said, this hasn't stopped me from being impressed with the mower overall. It is more a case of something I would like to see improved in the next generation rather than something that ruins the V600 experience. In most normal situations, the navigation is very impressive, and the mower has proven itself to be extremely capable of understanding and working its way around my yard.
The TerraMow app is another area where I think the company has done a really good job. I actually find it a little cleaner and easier to navigate than the Eufy app when I'm specifically controlling the mower. Everything feels fairly straightforward, and I don't find myself having to dig around looking for the settings I want. Setting up the mower, managing the map and controlling the different mowing functions all felt relatively simple, particularly once I had already gone through the learning curve of setting up the Eufy.
Where Eufy has a significant advantage, though, is the wider ecosystem. I already use Eufy products around my home, so being able to open one app and control my security devices, smart home products and robot mower is incredibly convenient. TerraMow doesn't currently have that same ecosystem, meaning the V600 relies on its own standalone application. For someone already heavily invested in Eufy, that is a legitimate consideration. But I'd separate the two things because the TerraMow app itself is good. It is the lack of a broader ecosystem that is the downside. For me, that's a relatively minor complaint because once I've set the mower up, I'm not spending much time in the app anyway. The whole point is that I shouldn't have to.
This is ultimately why I like robot mowers so much. Before using one, mowing the lawn was just another weekend job. It wasn't particularly difficult, but it took time. You get the mower out, mow everything, put it away and then inevitably get the whipper snipper out afterwards. Now, most of that simply doesn't happen. The TerraMow quietly maintains the lawn in the background while I spend that time doing other things. I've gone from spending hours every weekend dealing with the grass to spending around 30 minutes every couple of weeks doing some edging and tidying.

That means more family time, which is obviously important, but it also means more time for myself. And yes, inevitably, more gaming time. I don't mean that as some forced connection between a robot mower and Gaming Australia. It is genuinely something I've noticed. When you remove a couple of hours of maintenance from your weekend, those hours don't just disappear. You suddenly have more time to do whatever you want with. For me, some of that time ends up sitting down and playing games, and I'm certainly not complaining about that.
I have experienced the app losing connection with the mower on occasion, but interestingly, this hasn't really been a problem. When the app loses contact with the V600, the mower itself continues doing what it is supposed to do. It doesn't suddenly stop in the middle of the lawn and wait for my phone to reconnect. It continues mowing and, once it is back within range, the app detects it again.
That is important because it shows that the mower isn't completely dependent on a constant connection to operate. I'd obviously prefer the connection to be completely flawless, but in practical terms, the occasional dropout hasn't affected the mower's ability to do its job. And again, that's what matters. If the mower continued to stop every time the connection disappeared, I'd consider it a much bigger issue. In reality, I generally only notice the connection problem when I happen to open the app and realise it isn't currently connected.
One of the most exciting things about the TerraMow V600 is that it makes me curious about what the company does next. The upcoming TerraMow AWD model is particularly interesting to me. If the company can take what is already a very capable platform and add better performance across more difficult terrain, I think there is a lot of potential. I'd also love to see further improvements to obstacle avoidance and edging because those are probably the two areas where I think the technology still has the most obvious room to improve.
But the fundamentals are already very good. The V600 is reliable, it cuts exceptionally well, it navigates the lawn methodically and it genuinely removes one of those annoying recurring jobs from your life. That's ultimately what I want from a robot mower. I don't need it to be perfect, I just need it to work reliably enough that I can stop thinking about mowing the lawn, and the V600 has absolutely achieved that for me.
Final Thoughts
The TerraMow V600 is a fantastic robot mower. It takes a concept that I already really liked with the Eufy E15 and builds upon it rather than trying to completely reinvent it. The mowing performance is excellent, the navigation is tidy and methodical, the app is clean and easy to use, and I think the obstacle avoidance and edge performance have both improved compared to my experience with the E15. It isn't perfect, and I'd like to see the obstacle avoidance become more cautious, particularly after seeing the mower drive over rocks that were large enough to lift its wheels off the ground. I'd also like to see the edge performance continue to improve, although I think TerraMow has already made progress here.
The lack of a wider ecosystem is probably the other significant downside for me. If you're already invested in Eufy's ecosystem, being able to control your security, smart home devices and mower through one app is a genuinely useful advantage. But none of those things change how much I like the V600. It has given me back hours of my weekends. I spend a little time every couple of weeks tidying the edges, and the TerraMow takes care of the rest. My lawn stays consistently short and tidy without me having to spend my weekends pushing a mower around.
That means more time with my family, more time doing things I actually want to do and, inevitably, more time gaming. After spending this much time with the V600, I genuinely don't want to go back to mowing my lawn manually. The idea of returning to spending hours every weekend doing something that a robot can quietly handle for me seems ridiculous now. The TerraMow V600 isn't perfect, but it is very, very good. It takes an already excellent robot mower formula and improves it in enough areas to make it a genuinely compelling option, and with the AWD model on the horizon, I'm very interested to see what TerraMow does next.
