Forza Motorsport isn't your average racing game, it's another epic instalment into what is arguably already the best racing simulator franchise on the market. As a card-carrying racing sim fan, I have played my fair share of racing titles, but Forza Motorsport for me, takes the cake. So kick back and let me take you on a ride as to why this game is an absolute must-play for anyone with even a fleeting interest in racing games.

First off, let's talk about the visuals. Holy moly what a visual treat. Forza Motorsport serves up some of the best graphics I've ever seen in a racing game period! The attention to detail in car models, tracks and the environments is absolutely next level. Every paint job gleams, adding real life to every vehicle as it flies around each gorgeous track. The sunsets are gorgeous and when it rains, you’d swear you, yourself were getting wet. The rain engine in Forza is hands down the best rain of any video game I've ever played.

Now for the cars themselves. Forza Motorsport has a car collection the envy of car collectors the world over. The team over at Turn 10 studios has painstakingly recreated cars from every corner of the globe, from supercars to muscle cars and everything in between it's a veritable smorgasbord of horsepower. Even the interiors give you a real sense of immersion as though you're truly surrounded by your favorite sports car.

What truly impressed me the most about Forza Motorsport and what (for me) gives it the edge over the likes of Gran Turismo 7, is the physics engine. It truly gives you the sense of what it's like to be behind the wheel of any car you choose to jump into. RWD cars feel like a RWD, and an AWD car clings to the road like glad wrap clings to itself. But it's not all about punching that accelerator pedal, there's a real finesse to the way you move around these tracks in Forza Motorsport. Weather conditions really have a profound effect on how you must tackle each corner and be clear, if you hit something, you'll feel it making those intricacies all the more important to master.

Last but not least, the customisation is extensive. You can tweak just about everything, create custom liveries, and beef up your already overpowered super car. This level of customisation is not something that's necessarily new to the Forza franchise, however, this time around it just feels really refined and meticulously designed.

In a nutshell, Forza Motorsport is the new king in the world of racing simulators and racing games in general. It's not just about racing, it's about living and breathing in the world of cars. Whether you're a casual or a seasoned sim racer, there is something for everyone in Forza Motorsport. So grab yourself a controller, or racing wheel setup and enjoy what is a high octane thrill ride that will leave your heart racing faster than a V12 on the Autobahn. There has never been a more fitting release date in my opinion than the 10/10 because that's exactly what Forza Motorsport is…. 10/10
