To the edge of the universe and back, endure and survive
It's official, The Last of Us has been renewed for season 2! While it seemed likely this would happen anyway, this news broke just a few days after the 2nd episode aired. The Last of Us is also HBO's second most popular series premiere in over 10 years, bringing in a whopping 4.7 million viewers on the first day, and eventually reaching 22 million within 2 weeks (that's a lot of viewers!)

With a 9 episode 1st season that will stay faithful to the game, season 2 will more than likely follow suit. Of course, there's already a few differences between the game and tv series so far that fleshes the characters and world a bit more, so we'll likely see similiar with season 2.
As someone who has played both games numerous times, I can't wait to see these characters even more fleshed out, and the world they live in.
