The Powerwave Playstation 4 controller mount is the latest in mobile gaming accessories. Also available for Xbox One controllers, the Powervave controller mount allows you to quickly and easily connect your mobile phone, iPhone iOS 13 (or above) & Android Pie (or above), to your PlayStation 4 or Xbox One controller.
Out of the box, the controller mount is extremely easy to set up and extremely secure once fitted. If handheld isn't your thing, then the clamp conveniently doubles as a stand, giving you the option of tabletop play.
When I was testing the product, I used my Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus with my PS4 controller and the setup was a piece of cake. (I will be writing a guide on how to connect and pair your devices soon). Different devices could pose different experiences with the start up.
I am not a big fan of mobile gaming due to the clunky and downright awful controls that come with it. If you find yourself feeling the same, then this is where I tell you that the Powerwave controller mount will absolutely revolutionise your gaming experience. It turns your touchscreen mobile device into a handheld gaming console with games to rival consoles like the Nintendo Switch. Now, I'm not saying that your mobile phone will rival the switch, that would be ridiculous to even suggest. What I am saying is that certain games such as Riptide GP: Renegade, perform as smoothly on my mobile device as they do on my Nintendo Switch, and in some circumstances are actually much cheaper than their Nintendo Switch counterparts. Stardew Valley for instance I played and although not being a super demanding game by any means, it actually ran really well, as well as the Nintendo switch version of the game. Same goes for Fortnite, I was very pleasantly surprised at just how well it performed. The addition of the controller mount really gave me a distinct edge over my competitors. It honestly turns my mobile phone into a bona fide gaming system.
Whether it's gaming on the go or a quick game of Fortnite in your lunch break, this inexpensive accessory turns your clunky on screen controls into a brilliantly designed handheld system.
Here's a list of games that I have used the controller mount with to date, that fully support the use of a controller: Fortnite Riptide GP: Renegade Modern Combat 5: Blackout Unkilled Evoland 2 GTA: San Andreas Stardew Valley Star Wars: KOTOR Ark: Survival Evolved Bombsquad Crazy Taxi The Bards Tale There are some real big titles there, all of which ran worry free on my phone. They are however, all very demanding on battery life. Modern Combat 5 for instance gave me about 2 hours of gameplay and used about 70% of my battery.
If you're looking for an inexpensive yet effective way to improve your mobile gaming experience then look no further than the Powerwave Controller Mount. The fully adjustable 0°-180° viewing angle means elevating your game in almost any situation. Unfortunately, at the time of writing this review, the support for Bluetooth controllers is extremely limited. A lot of games that I downloaded expecting them to work, simply didn't. I'm not sure why this is the case but it's a bit of a bummer when you download a game such as COD mobile only to find out that it isn’t compatible. Call of Duty Mobile is the game I was most looking forward to playing, but unfortunately for whatever reason Activision actually disabled controller support. 🤷♂ I sincerely wish that the Google Play store had a controller supported games section to make finding supported software a little easier. There were a couple of teething issues when setting up my controller etc but that was actually down to no fault of this contraption and actually down to the hardware I was using.
Overall, I had a blast playing games on my mobile phone using the Powerwave Controller Mount. It really gave me a reason to play games on my phone. I highly recommend that everybody interested in gaming on their phone go out and get one of these. I simply cannot fault it! It's simple yet extremely effective. Overall 10/10.
Does anyone else have one of these? Do you agree with our review?
