Its officially been over 6 months since our last look at a full Nintendo Direct, and with very little known about Nintendo's plans in 2020 surely somethings got to give soon?
The last full Nintendo Direct presentation took place on 5th September 2019. The largest gap between directs sits at 183 days which was mainly due to Nintendo's decision not to hold a presentation at E3 that year, meaning were only a couple of days away from this being the longest gap ever. Of course since September we have had both a Pokémon and Animal Crossing specific Nintendo directs, but if you're not a Pokemon or Animal crossing fan, that wont mean much to you at all!
Its usually around this time of year that Nintendo hosts a direct to announce its plans for the coming year, but so far nothing. We're not however, discounting the fact that this could be somewhat down to the recent COVID-19 outbreak.
So far, all we really know about for 2020 is Animal Crossing: New Horizons (releasing later this month) and Xenoblade remaster.
Hopefully an announcement comes soon and includes more details on release dates etc for games such as Breath of the Wild 2, Metroid 4, Bayonetta 3 and maybe the announcement of a few new titles. We will watch this space but surely an announcement cant be too far away!
