Avalanche Software or Warner Bros. Games have not confirmed this yet; it is only a rumoured report for now. Please take this information lightly.
Last month, Warner Bros. Discovery’s CFO Gunnar Wiedenfels reassured fans that a sequel to the successful Hogwarts Legacy is on the way and is a “big priority” at the company. This news is positive for fans as well as the parent company itself. Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League was a critical and financial failure for the company, forcing them to downsize Rocksteady Studios dramatically. On the other hand, Avalanche hit the ground running with Hogwarts Legacy; the game was the best-selling game of 2023 and received positive acclaim from fans and critics.
Since its initial release, Hogwarts Legacy has yet to receive any new content. The game was ported to the Nintendo Switch, PS4, and Xbox One in later months, but DLC for the game is currently non-existent. However, Insider Gaming has a new report that potentially teases an upcoming DLC and the game getting re-released under the title Hogwarts Legacy: Definitive Edition.
It is hard to say whether these rumours are fact or fiction, but we have been given information about what precisely the DLC and re-release could consist of. The DLC will consist of 10-15 hours of brand-new content, including a new main story quest, new side missions, activities, and more outfits. Hogwarts Legacy already had massive content to keep gamers busy, but the DLC could bring new gamers and returning players back for another playthrough.
Warner Bros. plans to re-release the game bundled with the DLC for the supposed Definitive Edition. You can purchase the DLC separately from your chosen platform’s online store if you already own the game. The DLC, which currently has no title, will cost between $20 and $30 (around $29 and $44 in Australia). Insider Gaming provided no more information.
Rumours about a Hogwarts Legacy DLC have been around for a long time. Fans have questioned whether any new content will come to the existing game or if Avalanche is working towards the upcoming sequel. If the rumours are true, the DLC would bridge the perfect gap between the first game and its sequel. The DLC will leave fans wanting more and (if it’s successful) will make people’s anticipation higher for the second game. Warner Bros. Games are in dire need of success, and a Hogwarts Legacy DLC could be a step in the right direction for them.
